On June 30th, 1985, Rev. Vanzelen G. Brown Sr. came to GSMBC as pastor. Pastor Brown's first project was to pay off the church mortgage and expand the church parking lot.  On January 11, 1987, there was a church mortgage burning celebration.

On October of 1987, Pastor Brown purchased the property next to the church. In 1988, GSMBC's parking lot was expanded and paved.  In 1990, Pastor Brown saw a need for an Education Building. On January 26, 1992, the Educational Building was dedicated.

In 1993, Pastor Brown saw the need for a Christian Daycare in Muskogee. God’s Desire Daycare Center opened in March of 1994.  Today, God’s Desire Daycare and Preschool averages 50 children with plans to expand to fourth grade.

Presently, Pastor Brown is working toward expanding the facility that will host God’s Desire Daycare and Church Sunday School Department.
