History:
Pastor Vanzelen G. Brown established the Scholarship Fund. It has been in existence for the past twenty years. This year the scholarship fund has been named the Coleman and Joann Hughes Scholarship Fund because of the outstanding dedication that this couple has rendered toward this effort.
Purpose:
The purpose of this scholarship Fund is to be a supplement to grants, loans and other scholarships that students of Greater Shiloh may be receiving who are attending an institution of higher education.
Fund Raiser:
Each year Greater Shiloh has a fundraiser to raise money for our scholarship. Each month Greater Shiloh Church takes a percentage of its monthly gross income and invests it in the CJH Scholarship Fund. One hundred percent of all monies raised go into the scholarship fund.
Eligibility:
-
Must be an active member of Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Muskogee.
-
Each student must be attending an institution of higher education.
-
Each student must carry the required number of hours that qualify them as full time student.
Because of limited funds, we take the number of eligible students and divide it by the monies raised and mail each student a check each month. The money can be used for any purpose necessary to encourage students to stay in school.
